Good morning luyger,
have you seen this link: http://www.kahlon.com/rn24809_Acer_TravelMate_525TE.html
i just checked out the link, thx, but i dont think i would be able to get anything from there.
anyway, i just had an idea but im afraid that could be a stupid  question lol cuz i never used a USB drive, so i was wondering if i would be able to bootup and install an OS through an USB drive with a HDD.
Hi luyger,
no question is stupid, only some answers...
We are happy, cause yoe are back in our Forum.
USB-Harddisk is no problem. Your Laptop have USB? So you are able to use a USB-Harddisk.
But i don' t know the difference between prices (USB-HDD and HDD)
hey, mm i didnt make myself clear, its not a USB HDD, but an adapter, so i can connect the USB Adapter to my laptop with a HDD IDE on it
i know ill be able to access the ide HDD from USB, just like a laptob hd, i just dont know if i will be able to boot from that i think i wont be able, just wondering, i tried to google, but couldnt find anything related...
The best way is a new hdd for your laptop.
Have you looked for the details from your ide-hdd inside?
The name, the number...
In our link are some different hdds, what is your favourite and what hdd is intermateable?
So we can look in our Forum for a secondhand hdd. But we must know the details!
yes, but while i cant have a new HD i was wondering if i would be able to boot up from a HDD ide connected through USB, its an adapter that let u connect an IDE HD from USB.
i have the HD and i can get the adapter.
my notebook HD is a small one  lol ill see what is write on it tomorrow.
thx for the help.
Hi luyger,
the theme is now separated, becauce lucidity/clearness...
We have some people with well-structured english, but i hope you understand my basic english...
Particularly, i hope we "hit the bull's eye"
ok, i'm the one responsible for the english part of this forum. I hope I got everything everything right and your problem is solved for now.
But I have another idea, if it is not too late.
If your hard drive is still "fucked up" then try to save the datas and then try to reinstall the whole operating system. Maybe windows fucked up the master boot record. I had a similar problem when I worked as network administrator for my uncle for a few weeks. And I could solve the problem by deleting the harddrive and installing the system again.
just try it and let me know if it worked...
hi all thx for the nice topic.
kaiserfive, your english sounds much better then my broken english.
HI germandute, yes its too late, there is no master problem, it will simple work till it start to make the clicking noise, then if i let it sit for awhile i can bootup again, go on windows xp etc.. but if i attempt to do anymore heavy task(such as copying files or installing anything) it fails giving me the blue death screen or system just hang doing the clicking noise
ok im holding my hd right now, it says:

SCREW IS REMOVED OR BROKEN
===============================
i was just wondering like i said b4 if i can bootup with a HD(desktop pc) connected through USB, like having it to start my laptop, while i cant have a new HD for laptop, some1 told me if the bios see it, could be possible.
Hm, but than your HDD isn`t very usefull if you can`t copy or paste files ...
Where do you have this HDD from? Because this might be the problem:
"SCREW IS REMOVED OR BROKEN " so maybe your/a "merchant" or someone else can repair it?
Did you back up your personal and importent files? Because the problem can appear every secound again, you use your PC and the files ar lost ... so save them if you didn`t do it yet!
------------------------------------------
I hope this post doesn`t fail the aim so far ... because I didn`t understand everything and so it can be that this post is very senseless because maybe the problem is already out and I over (simple past of "read" hm I don`t know now ...) ...
"Hm, but than your HDD isn`t very usefull if you can`t copy or paste files "
yes it isnt, its dieing, that is why i need a new one, the other hd i have is good, but its for Deskto PC and not notebook, so my question was about having this HD for pc desktop connected through a USB adpter, so if i could bootup through USB and install a windows xp there and use it while i cant buy a new notebook HD.
""SCREW IS REMOVED OR BROKEN " so maybe your/a "merchant" or someone else can repair it? "
nah, i asked around now, i know, it cant be repaired, i need to buy a new one.
i didnt backup anythng, i dont have much important stuffs and right now i cant access it, bios dont see HD, that is why im asking around if i would be able to bootup with a HD connected though USB port.
hello luyger,
it maight be work, if you have an adapter between pc-hdd[ide] and usb2.0?
then you can try it... but do nothing wat crashes the pc-hdd
Hi lyger,
you need a harddisk in a case. Dismantle the harddisk out of he desktop pc and buy a case for this hdd with the electrical bus bar.
Connect the case with the Laptob by usb.
Bios adjustment "boot from other device" and then from choose USB...
First time test the BIOS about this adjustment / choice...
A case is required...in my opinion
